I know, this probably isn’t the most inspiring start to the new year, especially when everyone else seems to be focused on health and fitness. But here’s the thing—I totally spaced on posting this recipe a few weeks back when I should’ve, and I just couldn’t keep it to myself any longer. They’re THAT good.
This all started when my sneaky husband came home talking up these layered brownies with a name that’s definitely not kid-friendly. He mentioned they had layers of chocolate chip cookie dough, Oreos, and dark chocolate brownies. Honestly, he was testing me—hoping for a trial run, I think. And well, I delivered.
These brownies? They’re ridiculous. Like, straight-out-of-the-oven ridiculous. I brought them over to the neighbors for a weekend gathering, and they disappeared faster than you could say “brownie.â€
Now, I’ll admit, they do take a bit more effort than your average brownie since you’re making two separate layers. But trust me, it’s worth every minute. Here’s the full scoop:
---
**Ultimate Layered Brownies**
*Prep Time: About 20 minutes | Bake Time: 30-35 minutes | Servings: 16*
**Cookie Dough Layer:**
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
**Brownie Layer:**
- 10 tbsp butter
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
**Oreo Layer:**
- 1 package Oreos (I used Double-Stuffed)
---
To make the Cookie Dough Layer:
Cream the butter and sugars together until fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Slowly add the dry ingredients (flour, salt, and baking soda), mixing on low speed. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spread this mixture evenly into a greased 9x9-inch baking pan lined with aluminum foil.
For the Oreo Layer:
Arrange as many Oreos as you can fit on top of the cookie dough without overlapping.
Next, prepare the Brownie Layer:
Microwave the butter until melted, then whisk in the sugar and cocoa powder. Let it cool slightly, then stir in the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Finally, fold in the flour. Pour this batter over the Oreo layer and spread it evenly.
Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing—they’ll firm up as they set.

These brownies are adapted from a recipe I found on *What’s Gaby Cooking*, but I’ve made them my own. They’re rich, gooey, and absolutely decadent. The combination of textures—the chewy cookie dough, the crunchy Oreo bits, and the fudgy brownie—is something you won’t forget anytime soon.
If you try them, let me know how they turn out! Honestly, I can’t wait to hear what you think. Happy baking, and happy snacking!
