Freshly harvested pearls come with seawater, body fluids, and dirt clinging to their surfaces. If left unprocessed for too long, the gelatinous calcium carbonate and organic substances on the surface can harden, leading to darkening of the nacre, oxidation, and overall decline in quality. Therefore, it's essential to process them as soon as possible after harvesting.
(1) General Washing
The first step is to soak the freshly collected pearls in fresh water immediately. After soaking, wash them thoroughly with a mild soap solution and then rinse with clean water. Gently wipe them dry using a soft cloth or flannel. To ensure all remaining mucus and impurities are removed, you can also soak the pearls in salt water for 5 to 10 minutes before gently rubbing them with fine salt (in a 2:1 ratio with the pearls). Rinse again with soapy water and clean water multiple times, and finally pat them dry with a soft towel. Store them in a dry place once fully dried.
(2) Medicinal Washing
For low-quality pearls, a 0.15% to 0.2% solution of dodecyl sulfate can be used for washing. Afterward, rinse thoroughly with water and store them in a clean, dry container.
For pearls that appear dull or have surface blemishes, a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution is effective. After washing, rinse well with water and allow them to air dry before storing.
It’s important to note that medicinal pearls should not be treated with strong chemical agents. Instead, they should only be cleaned with clean water and brine to maintain their natural properties.
Once properly cleaned and dried, all pearls should be placed in a clean, breathable cloth bag and stored in a sealed cabinet or drawer. Avoid exposing them to heat or direct sunlight, as this can damage the delicate nacre layer. Proper storage ensures the pearls retain their luster and value over time.
Disposable Suction And Irrigation Sets
A Disposable Suction Irrigator Kit is a medical device used during surgery to remove blood, debris, and other fluids from the surgical site. The kit usually includes a straw and rinse tube, both of which are disposable and designed to be used only once. Suction tubing is used to remove fluid from the surgical site, while irrigation tubing is used to introduce sterile saline or other solutions to the surgical site to help clean and irrigate the area. The single-use nature of the kit helps reduce the risk of infection and cross-contamination between patients.
Product features of disposable suction and irrigation equipment:
1. Dual functions of flushing and suction, one machine with multiple functions;
2. The flushing and suction functions are clearly distinguished, and the operation is simple, one-handed operation, convenient and fast;
3.Fully transparent pipeline design provides the best way for suction observation operation;
4.The front and rear ends are detachable, which facilitates the absorption of foreign bodies during the operation.
