Before joining the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Sun held several key positions, including Executive Deputy Director of the Institute of Citrus Research at Huazhong Agricultural University, Deputy Director of the National Citrus Breeding Center, and Director of the National Citrus Primary Spike. He also served as Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Horticultural Plant Biology under the Ministry of Education.
