However, at the later stage of cotton growth, some cotton farmers only paid attention to the prevention and treatment of Fuxi, and did not pay attention to the prevention and control of other insect pests. In fact, the insect pests in the later period of cotton are often another important factor that causes cotton to fail to produce high yields. The main insect pests in the late growing period of cotton are blind maggots, which belong to the hemipteran cotton pests. Their fertility is extremely strong. The damage period lasts from mid-May to early October. If it is not controlled in time, it will bring about a significant reduction in cotton production. Combining the experience of long-term guidance to production in the fields, the author has concluded a set of relatively good tricks to combat cotton blindness for the reference of cotton farmers:
First, the skills to prevent blind
1. Centralized prevention and control. In order to prevent the transfer of hazards to be carried out by a control method, this control effect is better.
2. We must do a good job of agricultural control. Remove weeds in the field, strengthen cotton field management, prevent overgrowth, and reduce the number of insects.
3. Treatment should be thorough. Each time the agent is controlled to achieve "complete, clean, leaving no residue" effect. After the prevention and control, the inspection should be carried out. Residues should be controlled below the prevention and control index. When the amount of insects in the cotton field is large, continuous treatment and thorough treatment are required to control the chance that the blind and persistent elephants continue to reproduce in the cotton fields.
Second, to seize the key period in our province, blind monks like 5-6 generations a year, the first critical period of prevention and control in the middle and late May, the field to check the rate of new victims 1%-2% (new cotton primary leaves A small black spot appeared as a newly-damaged strain), and one hundred strains of worms began to control. The second critical period of prevention and control was in the middle and early June. Cotton entered the budding stage, and the number of newly-infested strains in the field was 3% to 5%, and the number of insects in one hundred strains was 3-5, and it was necessary to step up prevention and control. The first and second generations occurred relatively neatly, as long as the prevention and control were timely and relatively easy to rule and live. From late June, the third generation of nymphs began to incubate. Afterwards, the reproduction of the blind cinerea was overlapped by generations. There was no obvious algebraic boundary, and in addition, the cotton fields were closed and entered a particularly difficult period of prevention and control. The top of the main stem and the top of the fruit branches should be promptly checked. When the number of newly planted plants in the field is 5% to 10%, and 100 plants have 5 or more insects, they should be controlled in time. Generally, they are controlled once every 7 days until the end of September.
Third, the use of special effects in the prevention and control of pesticides in production practices through repeated experiments on the prevention and control of blind stinky to phoxim and malathion reconstituted pesticides the best. Phoxim is a highly effective and low-toxicity pesticide. It has a strong knock-down effect on the blind stink bug. However, due to the short residual period, long-term use alone will make the stink bug bear resistance. Malathion has three drug effects: stomach toxicity, contact toxicity and fumigation. It is a broad-spectrum insecticide. Although its efficacy is long, its knockdown ability is not as good as phoxim. The combination of these two drugs has the advantage of complementing each other and the best effect. It is indeed a control effect for the blind and obscure elephants to have "before and after playing back". It is also possible to use a special “Crystal†package for the prevention and control of blind stinky elephants. The usage is: 15 kg of water per package is sprayed, and the efficacy can be as long as 20 days.
