The reporter recently visited Jiansanjiang, Wuchang, Shangzhi and other major rice producing areas and learned that due to policies, railway transportation, and other factors, rice farmers have a strong wait-and-see atmosphere, and market players are not yet active in buying and selling.

At present, the highest purchase price for 70% rice grains in the province is around 2.80 yuan/kg, and rice prices with low rice rates are lower than the national protection price. For example, the purchase price of round grain rice with a rice output rate of 63%-65% in Jiansanjiang area is 2.52-2.56 yuan/kg. According to relevant departments, the total rice production in Shangzhi City this year reached 447,000 tons, and it currently only sells 50,000 tons; the grain price of Wuchang Mayor continued to decline slightly, the transaction status was not optimistic, the market demand was weak, and the overall purchase and sales were not booming.

This year, rice purchases and sales in parts of Heilongjiang have shown a downturn. In the situation where the overall market is not booming, there are also many price constraint pressures on rice itself. According to industry insiders' analysis, the reason why this year's market is different from the same period in previous years is mainly reflected in the following: First, rice production has increased substantially. The sown area of ​​rice in the province this year is 51.71 million mu, and the output has increased by more than 3.5 million tons from the previous year. Second, the country has adopted a tightening monetary policy. This makes it increasingly difficult for enterprises to borrow, and the cost of borrowing is high, and the acquisition of funds is hindered. Third, there is a backlog of some grain companies. Last year, some grain processing companies first entered the market, and the inventory backlog caused serious losses. Therefore, this year's purchases and business activities are cautious. Fourth, the problem of wagon shortage is outstanding. Affected by the growth of transportation coal, timber and other materials and transportation freight rates, the procurement groups in the south have been cautious in entering the market, and the pace of purchases by the main market dealers has slowed down.

Because farmers have limited access to information channels and there are asymmetries, they are expected to have a market trend of “low before and after high” this year. According to analysis by industry insiders, if farmers are reluctant to sell, they tend to result in the phenomenon of selling rice dumplings during the later period of repayment. It is hoped that the country will issue a temporary policy of purchasing and stockpiling, which will make the japonica rice market turn for the better. Otherwise, it is still difficult to get rid of the weakening trend.
