4 tips to make tractors "not eat tires"

“The large tires on both sides of the tractor are inconsistently worn, and even one side wears fast, resulting in flattening of the tire pattern, poor drainage, and the tendency for the car to slip. This is commonly referred to as 'gesturing'.” On November 2nd, Ren Huajun, an agricultural machinery technology extension technician in Ande County, said that there are several common reasons for this phenomenon, which can be targeted for conservation and can be avoided.

Long-term over-loading tractors most likely cause "eating." In this case, the tractor tires are overloaded, the slip rate increases, and tire wear is accelerated. If the tire pressure on the two sides is different and there is a large difference between them, the wear of tires with low air pressure will be intensified, and serious “eating” will occur. Ren Huajun said that the key to preventing such problems is tire pressure. The air pressure should meet the requirements, and the air pressure in summer is slightly lower, and the lower limit of the specified value is generally adopted. If the tire pressure is too high, the ply will be excessively stretched to cause excessive fatigue or breakage; the tire pressure is too low, and the ply is excessively wrinkled and deformed, which can easily cause the rubber layer to separate from the ply and accelerate the aging and wear of the rubber layer. Therefore, do not overload the tractor for a long period of time to reduce tire slip wear.

Trailing traction tripods for trailers are also prone to “eating”. It has been determined that when the trailer tripod is inequality equal to 60 mm, a large tire on one side of the short-shoulder will shorten the service life of 1/2, and the trailer tire on this side will also increase wear. Therefore, when using a trailer, the farmer measures the distance from the center point of the tripod pin hole to the center of the two front wheels of the trailer. The two distances should be equal. If not, identify and eliminate the cause. If necessary, recreate an isosceles tripod.

If the wheelbases of the front and rear wheels on the left and right sides of the tractor are not equal, in addition to the front wheel on the side of the short wheelbase, the remaining three tires are prone to wear of the septum malformation. Therefore, peasants should pay attention to checking the wheelbase of the front and rear wheels on both sides, align the front wheels and compare the two shortest distances on the outer rims of the front and rear wheels. If the wheelbase is not equal, you should find out the reason. Under normal circumstances, this condition is caused by the bending deformation of the steering knuckle bracket, knuckle shaft, front axle, or large axle, which can be removed for correction or replacement of new parts to recover the equal wheelbase of both front and rear wheels.

If the above three items are normal and there is a septum malformation wear on the right tire, the unit resonance will be strange. The operator can change the throttle position to avoid placing the throttle on the speed that can cause the unit to resonate. The “tipping” phenomenon of large tires can disappear.
