Leaching rapeseed oil contains a very small amount of organic solvents, and the amount of residual solvent meets the standard requirements and is safe for consumption. After two types of oil are clearly labeled, consumers can be given choices.

3 The name of the producer of the raw material of the product should be indicated. In view of the fact that the source of rapeseed raw materials is not only in one country, the production country name is also used to protect consumers’ right to know.

4 In addition to the requirements of the national standard for rapeseed oil, rapeseed oil must not be mixed with other edible oils and non-edible oils. The national standard also requires that no flavors and spices be added to the rapeseed oil.

The new national standard will be modified in the following aspects

Increased canola oil provisions. In the 1980s, due to the discovery that high erucic acid rapeseed oil had an effect on the metabolism of rats, it caused anxiety about the consumption of high erucic acid rapeseed oil all over the world. The new national standard stipulates that any product marked as canola oil must be tested according to its characteristic indicators. The quality index is the same as that of general rapeseed oil. The erucic acid content in low canola oil in the national standard of rapeseed oil was changed from 3% to 5%, which is related to the variety of rapeseed and related to the planting environment.
