The edible varieties developed by the Institute of Food Crops of the Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the sweet potato breeding base of Lucheng County of Henan Province are suitable for planting in Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Beijing, Shaanxi, northern Jiangsu, and central and northern Anhui in the potato areas of northern China. Should not be planted on the root rot.

The variety of potato fragility medium, short and medium vine, single tuber number of 5.4, potato spun spindle, yellow orange, middle early maturity, potato concentrating general, large medium and high rate, more resistant to storage, Moderate food taste. This variety of tubers has good sprouting ability, long vines, and 3-4 tubers per plant. The tubers are spindle-shaped, red-fleshed and white-fleshed, and the tubers are concentrated and neat. The rate of upper tubers is higher. Dry noodles and good quality. Resistant to root rot. Regional trials of sweet potato varieties in the potato region of the Yangtze River Basin in 2004-2005: average yield of 2092.4 kilograms per mu, 8.5% less than the control Nanshu 88; 643.9 kilograms of dried potato production, 5.1% increase over the control; 423.1 kilograms of starch per mu. In 2006, the production of sweet potato varieties in the potato region of the Yangtze River Basin produced an average yield of 2273.1 kilograms per mu, which was 22.1% higher than that of the control Nanshu 88; 65.36 kilograms of dried potato production per mu was 33.4% higher than the control; and 425.5 kilograms of starch per mu were produced.
