The cultivation and management technology of Photinia frasery

1, buy seedlings

When purchasing seedlings, it is necessary to choose seedling suppliers that have good reputation and can provide quality services to ensure the purity of the varieties and reduce production risks. In particular, high-quality container seedlings are preferred because their product specifications are the same, the root system is developed, the substrate can be transplanted, and the roots are scarcely damaged. The survival rate is almost 100%, and it grows rapidly after transplanting.

2. Selection and organization of nursery land

The soil in the planting area is preferably loose in texture, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral, and convenient in irrigation and well drained. Before planting, 250,000-3000kg of decomposed manure and 50kg of superphosphate are applied per acre, and the depth of soil plowing is above 25cm. At the same time, insecticides are applied to control underground pests. After plowing, the soil is finely leveled, drains are opened, and seedbeds are made. The bed width is about 100 cm.

3, transplanting seedlings

Transplanting time of seedlings is generally around April in spring and around October in autumn, which is determined by the local climatic conditions. The distance between plants is determined according to the time of gardening and the cultivation goal. If it is planned to cultivate annual shrubs, the plant spacing should be 3535cm or 4040cm, and about 3,000 plants per acre.

When transplanting seedlings, the seedlings must be carefully removed from the packaging or removed from the nutrient pods to ensure the integrity of the root soil ball, dig a hole at a fixed point, use fine earth mounds in the roots, and allow the root system to stretch and gently compact. Drench the water immediately after planting.

4 Cultivation Management

During the seedling period after planting, special attention should be paid to water management. In case of continuous sunny weather, water should be poured 3 to 4 days after transplanting, and then water can be poured every 10 days or so, in case of continuous rainy days, Drain the water in time. About 15 days later, the seedlings can be fertilized after they have too slow seedlings. In the spring, urea can be applied once every two weeks, with a dosage of about 5 kg/mu. In summer and autumn, compound fertilizer can be applied once every two weeks. The dosage is 5 kg/mu. In winter, a decomposed organic fertilizer is applied with an amount of 1500 kg/mu. It is better to bury and ditch. Fertilization should be based on the principle of thin manure, and it should not be used in large amounts once, so as not to damage the roots. Usually weeding soil in time to prevent soil compaction.

5 Pest control

Photinia had strong resistance to pests and diseases, and no devastating pests and diseases have been found so far. However, if improper management or poor nursery environment, gray mold, leaf spot disease or harm by scale insects may occur. Botrytis cinerea and leaf spot can be treated alternately with carbendazim, dexamethasone, and thiophanate. Scale insects can be treated with dimethoate milk and sprays, among which fast culling is not only a broad-spectrum insecticide, but also a high-efficiency, special-effect insecticide for scale insects.
